Controlling your network visibility

You have full control over who can see your network, which contacts are visible, and how your profile appears to other CTD users.

Choosing your network mode

Every CTD account starts with a network visibility setting. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy.

• Closed network (default for many users) — your contacts are visible only to you. You can selectively open up to specific people or company domains.
• Open network — your contacts are visible to CTD users you know. You can block specific people or entire companies.

Whitelisting and blocking

Both modes support granular overrides:

• Whitelist a person — allow a specific individual to see your network even if you're in closed mode
• Whitelist a domain — open your network to all users from a specific company (e.g., @yourdomain.com teammates)
• Block a person — prevent a specific individual from seeing your network even if you're in open mode
• Block a company — prevent all users from a company domain from accessing your network (useful for competitors)

Private contacts

You can mark any individual contact as private, regardless of your overall network mode. A private contact is visible only to you — no one else on CTD will know you have a relationship with that person. This is useful for sensitive relationships, such as confidential recruiter contacts or personal connections you don't want shared.

Can I make my whole account private?

Yes. Setting your network to Closed and not whitelisting anyone is effectively a fully private account. Other users can see your public profile (name, company) but cannot see any of your contacts or relationship data.

What teammates can see

On Team and Business plans, your teammates can see your network connections to the extent that you've shared them — but only at the path level needed to facilitate introductions. They can see that you know someone, not the full history of your relationship or your email exchanges with that person.
